Quoted is a web site that was born from the domain we managed to register. With the domains that we have registered we have full intention of creating sites on them. This one (quoted.co.za) we happened across the domain and we managed to find the ideal database for it. The next thing we did was to create the site around the database. We did have an initial site for it however it did not server the purpose so we created the site that you see today with all the bells and whistles. In june 2006 AWD set up a site to capture the poetry from South Africa. This prompted us to set up the site www.poet.co.za the site has shown great interest and shows off some of the best poetry that South Africa has to offer. Poets are not paid for their posts, they want to share their works with the world and www.poet.co.za gives them just the platform to do this. The site is a small site with between 100 and 300 unique visitors a month. This may be small in number however the visitors that do come to the site spend time on it which is awesome! This can be seen in the fact that there are oevr 5000 page impressions a month.

Every suit of sites should contain a Joke site. Well AWD have created there: www.jokemania.co.za . The first production of the site we used a cheap script. The script was riddled with problems and was not performing to it’s full potential. In November 2007 we saw over 90 000 page impressions in a calender month. The site constantly has over 1000 unique visitors a month and growing. Late 2007 with our love for Joomla we opted to expand the site content wise and get it coded into Joomla. This took weeks to get the content loaded (including a new section for funny pictures) and bugs fixed. We had endless problems with RS Gallery and template problems with some of the components that we were using. We managed to get this sorted and are now the proud owns of the Jokemania web site which is home to over 10 000 jokes and over 1500 funny pictures.

We have set up the pictures with an easy to use browsing option which makes viewing the site child’s play. The jokes have also been categorised extensively due to the sheer number of jokes the site has in it. The search function on the website is phenomenal and very popular with users. The icing on the cake is installing the SH404 component making the URL’s SEO friendly, this really has rounded off the site nicely.

Hot or not website seem to be a very popular in the .com arena however not in the .co.za arena so AWD decided it was time one was created. So we created www.voteforme.co.za .The site is contsntly growing and been updated by members. There are over 5000 members on the site. There are constantly over 1500 unique visitors every month to the site and over 50 000 page impressions on a good month. The site is on of AWD’s fun sites.

With the internet and the digital age one very sort after service is an online image hosting site. AWD have there own in the form of www.webgallery.co.za The site has been alive for 2 years in May and is growing constantly with users signing up almost every single day. Currently there are 983 members that have together over 6000 images online. In 2007 the unique users for a month record was slightly over 22 000.

Webgallery is an image hosting site where you can upload your images and hot link them into your site, blog or in a forum. The site generates the code for you that you need to publish your image else where making image hosting child’s play. Users are also able to set up their own online photo albums which they can share with family and friends alike.

With Kevin who has been a barman for many years it was a natural progression to start a drinks recipe site called www.barman.co.za  . The site has over 8000 drink recipes on it and is improving in popularity. The site can be search for cocktails and one can also search for drinks based on their ingredients. We have just recently had a minor overhaul done on the site whereby we have made the URLs more SEO friendly, we hope this will increase the searching and listing powers of the site with the search engines. www.grabber.co.za is a fairly new site that we have added to the suite of AWD sites. Grabber.co.za is a website where users can download videos from the likes of Youtube, Google and Myspace (And a few more). Why you may ask? Well have you ever found a great video on either of these sites that you would like to show your friends. Well now you can save the file to the hard drive which means you can play the video over and over again without having to download it again every time, which lets face it is time consuming and a waste of bandwidth. Grabber.co.za allows you to download a video file in  Adobe Flash Video (FLV). The process is really simple, you copy the URL and add it to the submit box, choose the site where you are downloading from in the drop down box on the right and hit the download button. The site then moves to a new page with an arrow and a down load option. Click the arrow and a “save as” box opens. Click save and give the file a name remembering to keep the .flv file extension. Once done the file is saved to your computer.
